Barriers, beliefs, and behaviour: a mixed-methods study of physical activity in women with urinary incontinence

Description

The dataset includes quantitative (i.e. questionnaires) and qualitative data (i.e. interviews and focus groups) collected as part of doctorial research. The research aimed to understand how women experience urinary incontinence in the physical activity environment, and what practical steps can be taken to support women with urinary incontinence in become or remaining physically active.

Three studies were conducted, with women aged 18 years and older. Study 1 includes questionnaire data from 345 participants and interview data from 14 participants. Study 2 includes questionnaire data from 389 participants. Study 3 includes questionnaire data from 15 participants and focus group data from 6 participants.

The dataset cannot be made openly available because even after all personal identifiers have been removed, there still remains a risk of disclosure for some participants. Access to the dataset may be possible for authenticated researchers under specific conditions.
