Data for: What influence does a coach have on motivational climate? An investigation into university level football

Data includes verbatim transcriptions from 12 player and 3 coach semi-structured interviews. Each interview was transcribed by the researcher from watching back interview recordings and typing responses word-for-word. All transcriptions were made anonymous using pseudonyms such as 'player 1' and 'coach 1'. Each transcription was then analysed using a thematic analysis.

Data also includes the dataset from the 3 questionnaire sections; TEOSQ, PMSCQ-2 and Rosenberg Self-Esteem scale. Forty two player participants completed the questionnaires which were created on Microsoft Forms. The data from the questionnaires were typed into SPSS to allow for Spearman's rank correlation and then regression analysis.
