Handedness and stereotype threat

    Dataset

    Description

Dataset of 179 participant data completed online via Gorilla.SC. Participants completed a flanker task with manipulations in the task instructions relating to handedness performance, with the study measuring task accuracy (number of incorrect responses given). A short-form state anxiety questionnaire was administered for a total of 4 times spread across the study as well as a trait anxiety questionnaire (completed once at the end). Participants also completed two slightly different versions of a handedness questionnaire to determine hand strength and direction, and a need for structure scale. Finally, participants answered a series of open-ended questions relating to the study and if they noticed the handedness prompt in the task instructions. The goal was to gather data to determine if there was a handedness difference in response to stereotype threat. The data was collected in the period 01/08/2021 - 10/09/2021.
