ResearchBox #2612 - 'Self-referencing on children's eye movements during maths word problems'

This research box contains the relevant experimental stimuli, datasets and analysis scripts for the AsPredicted project #95779 'Self-Referencing on Children's Eye Movements during Maths Word Problems'. To assist with navigation, please be aware of the following:

- The experimental stimuli are four EPrime 3 files (.es3), but we have also provided Excel versions of the questions along with their answers for those wishing to view the questions (Final Eye Tracker Maths Questions Boy/Girl A/B)

- We have included 3 data files as csv files. There is an initial dataset which includes all data before relevant trimmings are performed (ET Study Data Initial Data File.csv). There are then two trimmed data files, one for the analyses performed on the accuracy & response time variables, looking at the trials as a whole (ET Data August 2025 Trial Level Cleaned for LMMs.csv) and one for the analyses performed on the fixations on specific word types (ET Data August 2025 Zone Level Cleaned for LMMs.csv). These two files are both created from the initial data file, so it is not necessary to have both, but for clarity we thought we would provide them at the same time

- The analysis scripts are R scripts (v4.1.2) and the relevant packages are listed at the top of the file. There are two R scripts - one is to perform the relevant trimmings on the initial file in keeping with our pre-registration (ET Study R Script 1 Data Trimming FINAL), and the other includes the analyses to be performed (ET Study R Script 2 Data Analysis FINAL)
