Before joining the teaching staff at Abertay, I spent 14 years working in the financial sector, with posts at the Bank of England, Scottish Widows and Virgin Money.

I won the Alfred Marshall prize for applied Economics in 2001, prior to joining the Bank of England where I worked in both the markets and monetary analysis departments and was sponsored to complete an MSc in Economics at University College London.

At Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, I worked in real estate and international bonds before becoming an international economist in the Global Strategy team.

From a research perspective, I’m interested in the intersection between economics and finance, particularly real-estate economics.

I am currently undertaking a PhD in Real Estate Investment Trusts.
