Research interests

Dr Bayne's research interests are within the cyber security theme. His current research investigates the application of massively-paralleled processors (GPGPUs) and modern pattern matching algorithms to the problem of digital forensics searching. Asides from parallel computing and pattern matching algorithms, he has current interests in computer security, machine learning and Internet of Things (IoT).

He is currently supervising a PhD project that aims to investigate deep learning Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) for IoT.
