I have been a part time lecturer at Abertay University since 2007 initially coming along as a guest lecturer. I then began to deliver modules in Environmental Biotechnology, Plant Biotechnology and Cell & Molecular Biology. Recently I have been contributing to various modules on environmental sciences such as Environmental Policy & Regulation, Global Change, Environmental Monitoring & Pollution, Renewable Energy Challenges & Opportunities, Food & Water Security and Sustainability & Environmental Physiology and Epidemiology,

Prior to coming to Abertay I worked as a research scientist at the James Hutton Institute working on projects such as the genetic linkage map of potato and molecular breeding for disease resistant raspberries.

I am also a director and ecological consultant for my ecology business which provides all ecology services to the development sectors such as housing, railway, windfarms, hydro schemes & solar farms. I specialize in botanical surveys and Groundwater Dependent Terrestrial Ecosystems (GWDTE), as well as peat habitat & restoration assessments. I am also a full member of the Chartered Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management (CIEEM).
