Personal profile

Personal Profile

I am currently a lecturer in nursing within the Division of Mental Health Nursing and Counselling at Abertay.

Qualifying as a Registered General Nurse in Lothian in 1990 I have enjoyed a long, varied and extremely rewarding career in nursing both from a clinical and academic perspective. Having specialised in the care of older adults I have a particular interest in long term conditions and an interest in promoting physical, mental and social wellbeing particularly among the older population.

Over the last 12 years I have been engaged in mixed methods research gaining experience in the design and delivery of both qualitative and quantitative research studies. During this time I returned to post-graduate study with University of Dundee obtaining an MSc by Research in 2013.  More recently I have completed a Chief Scientist Office doctoral fellowship and aim to submit my thesis this summer.

Currently I am responsible for teaching into modules at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
