Sebastian Monteux is a registered mental health nurse and lecturer in mental health nursing. He has previously worked in Scotland and the Netherlands in the NHS, in the fields of local authority residential child care, adult social care and learning disability, and trained as a Steiner Waldorf School class-teacher. Most recently, prior to lecturing, he worked in the North of Scotland CAMHS inpatient unit, Dundee. 

Teaching

Sebastian is module lead for MHN113 Introduction to Mental health across the lifespan,  MHN221 Professional practice and development, and MHN343 Person-centred and Relational Care. 

He also teaches into a number of other modules across Mental Health Nursing, Psychology and Counselling programmes. 

 

Research interests

Sebastian's current research interests include: Social Pedagogy, Relational practice, Care ethics, Social welfare, Spirituality and 'Everyday' care practice.
