Abstract
Close to the Heart is a story of loss, love and life. It follows the day of my Dad's death, providing a raw examination of initial grief that progresses into a celebration of remembrance and hope. The comic aims to create an account of bereavement and heart disease which forms part of my research into the role of genre in healthcare comics.
