Abstract

The 6th NMIOTC Conference on cybersecurity built upon a key theme developing at NMIOTC over the past few years: Cybersecurity is now the central element of maritime security. Cybersecurity is the security of Cyberspace – the online environment in which we all live and work. It is Cyberspace in which every part of the maritime industry operates, whether civilian or military. It is where we at NATO, the European Union, and Partner Nations develop our military capabilities and civilian opportunities. However, Cyberspace is also utilized by those who want to cause harm to us, our partners across the world, and those we seek to protect.
