Abstract
The study analyzes the impact of horizontal interpersonal conflicts, i.e., between co-workers, on their organizational commitment, consistent with the dynamic conflict model. To test this empirically, data collected from 412 employees of service sector organizations were analyzed using structural equation modeling technique. Both measurement and structural models fitted the data well into the theoretical model. Overall findings reveal that task conflict and relationship conflict have positive and negative impact on factors of organizational commitment, respectively. However, the relationship between task conflict and continuous commitment is found insignificant. These findings are likely to enhance understanding about the dynamic conflict model, incorporating task and relationship conflicts as constructive and destructive responses respectively, and can be used for devising organizational policies accordingly.
