Innovation in work behaviour and the psychological contract in IT industries in Pakistan

Abstract

The main aim of the research is to explore the mechanism of enhancing innovative work behaviour of the employees. For this purpose, the role of psychological contract fulfilment (PCF) in enhancing innovative work behaviour (IWB) was examined. Moreover, organizational citizenship behaviour was explored as a mediator in the said relationship. A sample of 226 dyads (managers/leaders and subordinates\employees) employed in IT sector of Pakistan at different positions was randomly selected for the study. The data were analysed using smart PLS. The results revealed that PCF impacted IWB directly as well as indirectly through OCB.
