PROSPERO: Prevalence of antimicrobial resistance in bacteria obtained from wild and captive pinnipeds: protocol for a systematic review and meta analysis

    Research output: Other contribution

    Abstract

We will examine any study that reviews antimicrobial resistance in pinnipeds. Our population of interest is all pinnipeds.

This protocol describes how the following questions will be answered.
    1. What Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) has been tested for in samples obtained from pinnipeds?
    2. Of those AMR tested what is the prevalence in samples from pinnipeds?
    3. What is the prevalence of multiple resistance present in pinniped samples?
    4. Is there a difference in AMR prevalence and the type of AMR present between pinniped species, sample types, regions, or settings in which AMR has been investigated?
    5. Is there a methodological bias toward aerobic or pathogenic bacteria investigated, or the approach used to identify AMR?
    6. Is there bias in the health status of sampled animals and in the locations investigated?
