Reconfiguring Jason Rhoades

Abstract

This presentation will present a body of work that considers the application of systems in art with a particular reference to the installations of Jason Rhoades. A new film work X Configurations, which has been made in response to Rhoades’ work and process will be screened and discussed. A second work, Rhoades Rage, made by Animation students from Northumbria will also be presented. The roles of information exchange, decoding and excess in Rhoades’ work will be drawn out in the discussion. Goodfellow is an artist with a particular interest in the application of systems and processes in understanding nature, society and art.
