The purpose of this study is to investigate the direct and indirect effects of servant leadership on knowledge management (KM). A quantitative methods approach was used to gather the data. 423 surveys were completed from the for-profit, non-profit, and public sport sectors. The results revealed that servant leadership behaviours are positively related to KM. The results also show that trust mediates the relationship between servant leadership and KM in these three sectors. The paper also provides an insight into the mediating effect of trust on servant leadership and KM, using a quantitative methods approach. While this is an appropriate method, an in-depth interview approach is also needed to explore and understand these variables through focusing on the lived experience of managers in sport settings.
