Abstract
This case study discusses how vignettes and workshop methodologies are used in work-life boundary research. The project discussed in this case study aims to uncover different social and cultural factors entangled with Information Communication Technologies (ICTs) in creating work-life boundary experiences for individuals. Data for the study were collected from 34 working individuals in Sri Lanka. Data were collected through different activities performed in a single workshop. Vignettes were a facilitating tool to stimulate participant reflections about their work-life boundary experiences. In order to reap the benefits of workshops and vignettes, researchers need to carefully develop the vignettes and the activities that are supposed to be used in the data collection process. Handouts could be used as open-ended questionnaires to collect data in written form. This case study will assist readers in successfully using workshops and vignettes in qualitative research studies related to work-life boundary management and other fields.
