Abstract
This paper provides a comprehensive review of the wastewater and sewerage network, sewage collection methods, types of treatment plants utilised, and effluent disposal route in Aden the capital city of Yemen. All issues surrounding viability of the wastewater system, operation and maintenance within treatment plants, manpower, lack of funding and mismanagement are reviewed. The paper concludes with recommendations to overcome the chronic problems identified with the sewerage infrastructure in the city of Aden.
