Abstract

This chapter highlights how women engineers and the Women’s Engineering Society Climate Emergency Group are advancing the agenda of sustainable community development and explores the underlying reasons for women’s strong engagement in climate change issues. Furthermore, the chapter examines the evolving landscape of professional activism, particularly with the integration of AI technologies. Pursuing sustainable communities remains a complex and dynamic endeavour, where diverse perspectives and innovative approaches are crucial in shaping a more sustainable future. The chapter underscores the transformative potential of both collective and individual actions, and the importance of communication and education in driving these efforts.
